This is our first travel bug found! We apologize for the delayed response. We found it mid-day under a piece/slab of concrete debris. About 75' from a small parking lot in Maple Grove, MN. Over a foot of snow all around and about 10 degrees outside. Nothing we aren't used to up here in MN. Today we made it through -25 degrees. That is not the windchill either. Some things we witnessed during our couple day cold snap is:
-Regular sodium chloride/salt does not melt snow or ice
-Cardboard instead of bending, breaks
-Many vehicles and equipment do not start or develop problems, so you must be prepared
-If you want a warm beverage cold, just stick it outside for a couple of minutes
- Must be careful of water lines freezing in your house or business
-Any unfrozen water like rivers and streams give off a steam that falls to the ground as light snow
-Touching any metal that has sat outside with bare hands or skin feels as though it is burning you
-Forget two layers of clothing, three is better, and if you can do four, why not
Those are just some of the experiences that we have recognized and can recall as I type. All in all it is great to experience that many do not get the chance to. This life here on our planet we share is so miraculous. We are honored to experience any and all parts of it. We are also honored to share your travel bug. We hope we can eventually bring it to a place that will get you connected to another 4-H group. We hope to place it again soon. Thank you for sharing.
