Help! I’m lost. I need to get back to southeastern Pennsylvania to get back in my owner’s weekly game of Mah Jongg. But I wouldn't mind joining in some other games along the way. Send pics.
This is a #1 Bamboo tile from a Mah Jongg game. The real game, played with four players, not the computer solitaire version. This tile is called “Bam Bird”; “One Bam” or just “Bam”. There are 4 bam birds in a complete set of 152 tiles used to play the American version of Mah Jongg. The one bam is always some type of bird , as opposed to the other bams which depict bamboo sticks. The design of this stylized bird varies from set to set and manufacturer to manufacturer. This one is a diving crane.
