Current Goal

I thought it would be fun for Bobby’s Horse to travel to its ancestral land, Sweden – perhaps visiting “horsey places” along the way – and then back home to Ottawa, Canada, to its home cache, Manotick Steeplechase (GCZ0F5).  Now that BH has achieved its first goal of visiting Sweden, please help it come back home to Ottawa, Canada!  WOOHOO!!!  Bobby's Horse is back on Canadian soil after a very long journey to and from Sweden.  Please help it come home to Ottawa!  Unfortunately, the container for GCZ0F5 is no longer large enough for Bobby's Horse -- once in the Ottawa area, I would appreciate it if whoever is bringing Bobby home would contact me through geocaching.com.  Thanks!

This sweet little horse was a gift from my friend Robert – given to me specifically to become a travel bug. Bobby received it from a friend, who brought it back to Canada from Sweden. I checked out the website on the sticker, and learned that Bobby’s Horse is hand-painted by Nils Olsson Hemslojd, who also paints roosters, pigs and clocks. Apparently, these painted horses are the quintessential symbol of Sweden. No two items are alike – his work is charming!
