My interest in the military started as a small boy. I collected dozens of Army patches including this one. My dad was a cook in the Wisconsin National Guard field artillery. He's now retired. It was exciting to visit him during his two weeks of annual field manuvers at Fort McCoy near Sparta, Wisconsin. I enlisted even before I graduated from high school. I served in the Army from 1986-1990 as a combat tank crewman. Hopefully this travel bug will raise public awareness to the sacrifice that soldiers make everyday.
