Columbus is BACK!!! After nearly a 4 year hiatus, Columbus exploring caches around the world!
This TB Dog Tag has had a long and busy life. Launched originally in 2008 as "Columbus" one of three explorer TB sent out by my son as part of school project this travel bug had a great 3 year run until it went missing in September 2011. The backup tag was re-released as "Loony the Travel Bug" 2012 only to go MIA again in 2013. Now, against all odds, Columbs has resurfaced (a little worse for the wear) and is once again accompaining geocachers as they explore the world together.
So far Columbus/Looney the TB has more than 275 recorded sightings, in at least 7 different countries on 3 contenents and accumulated more than 40,000 miles... and counting. What an awsome hobby! ~ 2shay

01/07/2012 - Shipwrecked! Columbus has had quite a run, but it seems that all good things must come to an end. After logging more than 12,000 miles and 150 posts, Columbus' travels have come to an end. Columbus was launched in Minnesota (USA) almost 4 years ago, but now it appears the Columbus Travel Bug has been marooned in a disabled/abandoned "night" cache in Slovakia. Thanks to all Geochacers who have moved this TB all over the world! We will relaunch the TB with a new ID. RIP Columbus TB.
