The three travel BUGs Huey (by Jeo), Dewey (by Bootdisk) and Louie (by Mc5) are embarking out together on a long and challenging race. Each travel BUG wants to be the first to travel from Orangevale, CA to Holly Springs, NC.

The travel BUGs' race was inspired by their role-model, the '63 travel BUG which was recently shipped from California to North Carolina. Even though the '63 travel BUG was shipped directly, these little travel BUGs want to travel via geocaching and stop in each state along the way. Please don't take them across more than one state line at a time.

Huey, Dewey and Louie are each also trying to win their own special race:

- The farthest total distance travelled by January 1st, 2007
- The longest single jump by January 1st, 2007
- The most states (or countries) visited by January 1st, 2007
- The most caches visited by January 1st, 2007
- The most cachers traveled with by January 1st, 2007
- The most cachers with photos in their logs by January 1st, 2007

Also, Huey, Dewey and Louie love their street-legal counterparts, and enjoy having their pictures taken with Volkswagons of all types.

travel BUG standings so far, although wilsonjl is on the move with Huey past the Arctic Circle. Wow!! I didn't know a bug could drive up there. That sure is quite the adventure, can I go next time??

    This cache was a lot of fun for us! The snow provided additional entertainment (we REALLY didn't need it) by fueling our epic snowball fight! To our surprise we found a bug too! We will drive this one to a new rest stop soon! Thanks for the family fun!

    We were only able to get a few miles on Huey's odometer. Tried to move him south but couldn't find a suitable cache in Georgia. Our next travels are northward. Hopefully, someone else can move Huey southward.
