David was a patriot and proud American. Whether it be at home, at work, or on the road, he celebrated and reinforced the freedoms the constitution gives us. This bug wants to celebrate being an American. Take it camping, take it to national landmarks, take it to work, take it anywhere it can enjoy the freedoms of our great country. And take pictures of it wherever you go.

Dave's All American

This TB is one in a series in honor of my hetero life-mate David, who died unexpectedly in 2004. Had he learned about geocaching, I'm sure he would have loved it, especially creating crafty cache hides. And since he's not here to enjoy it, these bugs are out to enjoy it for him. If you happen to pick up one of these bugs, say hi to David, just in case he's listening.

On our first day of geocaching we (myself and three children) were o for 3 until we came to this site. It was great excitement finding the cache and then a travel bug!! They can't wait to take it home (Fla) and have Dave enjoy the warm summer sun.

Picked Dave up from a cache at the beach...unfortunately the dog knocked the camera to the deck of the boat, so no pictures. But we'll get Dave to the Smokies next week. Won't be hiking the trail for another two months, so maybe someone else can move him along to see more of the country.
