Current Goal

This travel slug was in a contest with six other travel slugs to see how far it could travel by March 9, 2009. The contest is complete, and four of the seven slugs made it back to the home area ON March 9 - how cool is that?

Mama Bear wants to continue to have fun and adventure so a new Mama Bear is headed back out into the wild, just to see where life (and caching) takes her.

I'm MamaBear (aka RedhedMary.) I released six travel slug coins in honor of a "beary" special group of scouters, Da Bear Patrol of Wood Badge Course C-16-07, held at Gerber Scout Camp in 2007. I am honored to be their troop guide! I want to share in the fun, so am releasing a seventh travel slug for myself! I'm happy that all six of Da Bears completed their tickets and earned their beads, and that their travel slugs have had fun traveling the world! They've been (so far) to Germany, the Bahamas, Cozumel, Australia, New Zealand, and many other places including IRAQ! Sonia, Vickie, Tod, and Mama Bear's slugs all made it back to the Grand Rapids area ON March 9, 2009. Made possible with efforts of Fitz, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

The first copy coin sent back out  was taken to Paris, France, where it was promptly picked up by Americans who brought it back to the US and it was lost soon after.  This time, Mama Bear herself is going out to see the world. The traveler was lost again, being released again in 2018.

Mama Bear has come home to Mama Bear! First released in 2007, this is the fourth release from 2018. Pretty cool that a caching friend picked it up in Long Island NY and brought it home to me in Michigan.

Think I'll give it a well deserved rest!
