Judo, celym nazvem Kodokan Judo, je japonske bojoveho umeni zalozeneho profesorem Jigorem Kanem (1859-1938) v letech 1882 az 1886 v Japonsku v Tokiu. Prvni univerzita Judo se jmenovala Kodokan.
Jigoro Kano navstivil Ceskoslovensko v letech 1933 a 1936. V roce 1936 byl zalozen prvni Ceskoslovensky svaz jiu-jitsu.

Japan, Tokio by profesor Jigoro Kano (1859-1938) between years 1882 and
1886. The first university of Judo was named Kodokan.
Jigoro Kano visited Czechoslovakia in the year 1933 and 1936. In the year
1936 there was established first Czechoslovakian jiu-jitsu federation
