This coin is a Red Rememberance Poppy. It was purchased and named in honor of Ms. Lovie's grandfather, Robert (AKA PopPop). He served in World War II. PopPop lived to the ripe old age of 92. He passed away on April 30, 2007. He was always a man of surprises and laughter. At 89 years old, he surprised the entire family by playing "The Bear Went Over the Mountain" on Christmas Eve. What makes this story so amazing, is that he had advanced lung disease.
