Current Goal

The real Spunky went to Florida and back several times with my grandparents. Please assist this Spunky in his attempt to duplicate those trips. As always, Spunky liked to come home between trips.

The real Spunky was a black Pomeranian who lived with my grandparents for 23 years. When I found this Spunky in a cache, I thought I could honor the little Pom's memory by activating a travel bug, and allowing him to travel and meet new folks, just as the other Spunky had done for many years.

The only reason I didn't pick him up was cuz he said "copy" on the tag and I didn't want to go thru the hassle of two being out there, but I see he's the only one with the number. Oh well.

Took spunky on a trip, then deposited him back safely in the same cache. With my time constraints, I could not find a non-micro cache on my trip to move him. Sorry, but enjoy the pix.

  • Schlitterbahn - New Braunfels, TX Spunky at Schlitterbahn. America's #1 waterpark per the Travel Channel.
  • The Alamo - San Antonio, TX Spunky remembering The Alamo.
  • Natural Bridge Caverns - N. of San Antonio, TX Spunky took a tour of the North Cavern. These were awesome, but some parts were under 90' of water due to massive rains.
  • State Capitol - Austin, TX Spunky is a great patriot. He visited the Texas State Capitol to see how laws are made.
  • State History Museum - Austin, TX Spunky learned about the earliest settlers and great Texans like William Travis, Sam Houston, Stephen Austin, Ann Richards, and others. Very fun!
  • State Senate - Austin, TX Spunky also posed in front of the State Senate chambers. The picture in the very back is of Stephen F. Austin and is one of 3 original portraits in existence. The other two are in private collections. Stephen Austin hated sitting for portraits and viewed them as a waste of time (so the tour guide explained)
