We have had a great trip with Robbie DB2. He rode with us from Texas through Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and finally Illinois. In Oklahoma, he stayed at a really stinky hotel. Actually, we let him sleep in the car because he could not breathe well in the room (none of us could). He noticed a lot of manufactured housing communities in Kansas and wanted to warn the inhabitants about extinction. In Missouri, he enjoyed a nice stay at Great Grandma S's house, complete with homemade wild grape jelly. While driving through Illinois, he enjoyed a lunch with dino-shaped tator tots. In the Chicago area, he became an astronaut at the Museum of Science and industry, enjoyed a cold beverage at the Signature Room on the 96th floor of the John Hancock building, and met up with some friends at Cafe Iberico (the best tapas bar in the world - corner of LaSalle and Chicago, in case you are ever in the area). Robbie DB2 was a bit upset with us because we drove past the Field Museum many times without stopping in to see his friend Sue. We sure hope he will get to visit her soon.
We will post pictures later this month. What a great adventure! Papa Andrew should be proud.
