Spreading the word, that any season, it's good to keep hydrated! Avoid drinks with Caffeine, (energy drinks, Coffee, Some sodas) as Caffeine is a Diuretic, which will make you expell water faster, and your body won't remain hydrated. Also avoid sport drinks right out of the bottle, and sodas which have bound carbohydrates (sugar, or sugar substitutes). Water alone, is good, but over-hydrating is also bad.. I suggest a 50/50 mixture, of water and sport drinks (Gaterade, Power Aid, etc.) But avoid drinks like Monster, Rockstar, etc. which have Caffeine. The dilluted Sports drink will regulate the amount your body will absorb and store.. This way, less water need be consumed over the long trek. Also your body will retain because the remaining bound carbohydrates will slow the body's absorption.
