Dylan'stang is now on his way back home after a brief stint as a surfer dude on the California coast. I placed him in this cache in a historic canyon in what's now suburban San Diego, but which was once a very rural area. Some stories of this location's history can be found in the description of geocache GCPTY7 (even though that cache itself is archived). Happy travels, 'Stang!

Dylan'stang reached the beach this morning, at Torrey Pines State Reserve in San Diego, California, just north of the campus of the University of California, San Diego, and just west of the horse racing track at Del Mar ("where the surf meets the turf"). I took a couple of photos of him on the beach and will upload them soon, so stay tuned. If you want to see exactly where he was, a nearby cache is GCR21H. Now I'll take him back inland so he can start his big trip back home.

  • Dylan'stang saluting the Bear Flag This picture was supposed to show Dylan'stang and the California state flag at the beach, but the TB somehow didn't manage to show up in the photo. Anyway, he's there.
  • Other means of transportation Mustangs aren't the only way to get around at Torrey Pines beach. Every day you can see hang glider pilots, who take off from the nearby "Gliderport," which is right next door to the world-famous Salk Institute for medical research.
