Current Goal

I am a native Californian and I love learning about history by way of landmarks. I want this GEOCOIN to travel to all the historical landmarks in our "Golden State". Please take pictures of yourself at the landmark with the GEOCOIN and email them to me at fraga1996@hotmail.com. I'd like to keep a travel journal of my GEOCOIN. Have fun with this one! You just might learn more about this beautiful state.

    Out placing caches (this GC is in one of them) in the Mission Peak area. Stopped to photgraph the coin near the site of the Leland Stanford Winery on Stanford Ave in Fremont. Stanford (and/or his brother, I'm not sure) had a large winery is this area as well as horse stables and a racetrack. I read that when they decided to found Standford University they considered this area before deciding on the main farm in Palo Alto. Although sources say that Weibel operates the vinyards nearby, they have actually been sold to developers and turned into McMansions.

    My pack was incredibly full so I just posed next to the marker - the coin is in the pack somewhere. The marker is, number 642. [url=http://www.donaldlaird.com/landmarks/counties/600-699/642.html]Leland Stanford Winery[/url].
