This coin is being released to help raise awareness of bikes on the road.
Some Situations When Crashes are Most Likely to Occur.
Car making a left turn: A driver is attempting a left turn in front of you.
Riding in a driver's blind spot: You are riding in the driver's blind spot and the driver may not see the motorcycle. Additionally, the driver may fail to adequately check blind spots before changing lanes or making turn.
Hazardous road conditions: Potholes, wet leaves, railroad tracks and other road obstructions may dictate that you take an action that a driver may not or does not anticipate.
Obstructed line of sight: Large vehicles, such as sport utility vehicles, delivery vans, and large trucks may block a motorcycle from a driver's view and you may seem to suddenly appear.
Over two-thirds of car-motorcycle crashes are caused by drivers, not by motorcyclists. The driver either does not see the oncoming motorcyclist at all or does not see the motorcyclist in time to avoid a crash.
Make yourself visible to motorists!
This coin is in memory of Todie Phillips of Manitou Beach, MI. He passed away August 12 2008 as a result of a motorcycle accident, he was only 49 years old.

GeoPig took the TBs for a tour of Athens. They saw the Parthenon, the weekly changing of the guards at the Greek Parliament, grabbed 2 quick caches and ended with lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. The TBs will be packing their bags tonight and heading back to Michigan tomorrow morning. GeoPig will upload pictures when she returns home.

GeoPig took the TBs for an interesting tour of Cairo today. They visited the pyramids, the sphinx, took a camel ride, stopped at the Hard Rock Cafe, had lunch on a boat as they drove down the River Nile, saw a mosque, learned how papyrus paper is made, and did quite a bit of shopping. The TBs are looking forward to some R&R tonight. Pictures will be uploaded when GeoPig returns home.

Limassol, Cyprus - and now the final port without a cache close to the pier. GeoPig took the TBs into town for some shopping, then they returned to the ship for some R&R in the sun.

Antalya, Turkey - One more port with no caches close to the pier. 😟 That’s okay - GeoPig and the TBs spent quite a strenuous and adventurous day hiking up a mountain to the ruins and a cave and walking down plenty of steps to a beautiful waterfall. They returned to the ship exhausted and spent the rest of the evening at the spa. 😁

Bodrum, Turkey - yet another port in Turkey with no quick caches near the pier! This gave GeoPig plenty of time to show the TBs around the castle and shop on their way back to the ship. The rest of the day was spent relaxing in the sun.
