To go where no Goldie has gone before...
Goldie is the mascot of the Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball Club (www.goldeyes.com), a professional baseball team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The current incarnation of the team joined the independent Northern League in 1994 and remained a member till the end of the 2010 season; later that year, it moved over to the American Association, also an independent league, and has been playing there ever since. The team has been successful both on and off the field, having made the playoffs almost every year while in the Northern League (including every year for the first 10 years) and becoming the first independent team ever to average more than 7,000 fans per game. In 1994, the Goldeyes won the Northern League championship and in 2012, they won the American Association championship. Our family has enjoyed Goldie's antics at numerous Goldeyes games and would now like to return the favour by assisting him in one of his life goals: to see as many baseball games as possible, especially those of the major league variety!
