Current Goal

This B17 Flying Fortress LOVES to fly and to visit anything that has to do with airplanes. Please allow it to visit with you, or to fly with you... just enjoy and move it along!

About This Item

John Day was an upper turret gunner on a B17 Bomber (aka the “Flying Fortress”), during WWII. Yo may see by the photos, he was witness to some real action and saw more than one plane suffer crash landings or being shot down. Fortunately, John made it home and married his sweetheart, Margaret (a real life “Rosie the Riveter“!). They had two sons, the oldest of which was Scotty, named for the infamous pilot, Robert L. Scott (author of “God is my Co-pilot”). Many of you know Scotty as “Scott”, the male half of “DayHunters”. We decided to place two caches in honor of John and Magaret. You have found one of them here. Please take something, if you want. When you log in, if you would like, please tell us something about a war hero (no matter what war) from your life? Thanks, Scott and Linda Aka “DayHunters”

Decided to nab this lil guy and get 'em moving along again. Beautiful spot to have rested - remote but a gorgeous stream location. Will continue it's journey (locally) soon.
