    Chief said "Little help!"

I said, "For a little guy."

and he replied "Don't crack wise kid its time to motor on a mission"

    and off we went.

Friday the 13th proved lucky, we spent at my job working on a morning news show at WXII 12 ( WXII12.com ) here in Winston-Salem NC. We spent time in the control room, on the floor, at the Info Desk, then out the door pausing at a live truck.

Later, we stopped by Fire Station 10 here in Winston-Salem
    N 36'04.783 W 080'20.121 at snagged some quick pictures.

Saturday it was off for a duty weekend with the Army Reserves and then Sunday Cheif and I parted ways at a cache near I-95. I figure it's a good shot for the Chief to escape NC. I'm sure while he loved it here he spent way to much time.(months)
I-95 runs 1,927 miles (3,101 kilometers) along the east coast of the United States, between its northern terminus at the Canadian border at Houlton, Maine where it becomes New Brunswick Route 95 and its southern terminus in the city of Miami, Florida at a junction with U.S. Route 1, and is the major north-south highway along the east coast, connecting the Maritime Provinces of Canada with Boston, New York City, through Florida.

So hopefully a local wont pick him up again.

    • Chief in the WXII control room. Chief started his day at work with me inthe WXII news control room with self portrait.
    • Director Vickie Tate ringleads the show. Chief has a front row seat.
    • On the floor of the morning news. Chief mans a camera the set is behind him, so maybe fighting fires is his true calling.
    • Cheif cozies up with a news anchor. Cheif on the set with Kimberly Van Scoy Morning News achor. (and lovely person to boot!)
    • Chief at the "Info desk" Chief is by the scanner bank montioring "10-codes" at the Info desk a kind of an immediate nerve center for news at the station. The "Easy button" is the most important tool they have because it gets crazy! "When it rains it pours."
    • Cheif by a live truck. Just like chief has his wheels when it is time to go, so do we.
    • In front of unique station marker
    • In front of the bay. When I first showed up to take pictures there didn't seem to be anyone around. After a while I saw firefighters peeking out the bay windows at the strange man taking pictures. I asked if it would be alright to take one of the engine and they said fine. Then I started telling them about geocaching, where the chief was from and what I knew about who sent him, (from geocaching profile) and then about work. I relize now I should have done more snapping and less yapping!
    • Protectors of Winston-Salems shiny red ride. I remember being in kindergarten and they asked us what we wanted to be once we grew up and my choice was firefighter! We get to see my "other job tomorrow!" (Sat-Sun 14th-15th)
    • Chief Army Reserve Seal Chief was in luck because I had a "duty weekend" the following day. I am in the 982d ComCam (Combat Camera hence the log name) in the US Army Reserves. It's a parallel to my civilian life. I was in right after high school years ago as a Cavalry Scout got out years ago then found out about this unit in the past few years and rejoined a few months ago.... I'M LOVING IT! Our job is to document anthing army does, so we are fortunate enough to get an across the board look at US armed forces in action
    • Wall of awards/commendations, mission brika-brak. and cheif on the seal.
    • PT! It's early and no-one is awake just yet around 6:30am. We will soon be outside for PT. Chief was all for it.
    • Sgt. Stephens I go way back with Sgt Stephens my first duty station was with him in Fulda Germany around 1990-1993. Small world. Chief and him become fast friends.
    • Chief goes Hollywood Chief with one our digital video cameras.
    • Time to check out the vehicles! While chief and the FD have nice rides we love ours too!
    • Compare. Chief's paint job is red for flash, we play it low. We've both have the same knobby tires so maybe chief is a pig to the dirt and mud just like us! ;)
    • Bumper Numbers We might keep it LOW but like the Chief, people gotta KNOW. We have bumper numbers like the Chief so we can be known when we roll through.
    • Yours truly Chief and pose with rides.
    • Parting of the ways I actually felt a little sad when our part of the adventure came to an end, but know there more to come for chief and I'll follow him here as he sets out!
    • The trade. It was time for me to head back to Wiston-Salem so I exchanged chief for a TB coffee mug and promptly filled it at the Kangaroo. I have to say after leaving chief at the drop just a couple hundred feet away it felt like miles already. Thanks and good luck chief!
