Current Goal

Crabby left the Atlantic Ocean on Memorial Day weekend, 2005. She is on a sightseeing tour throughout the United States. Her goal is to visit lakes, streams, and rivers, with an ultimate goal of dipping her toes into the Pacific Ocean. If possible, please post pictures of Crabby as she travels.

About This Item

Troop 543 with real Maryland blue Crab!

Crabby is one of four Travel Bugs being launched from the East Coast by Maryland Girl Scout Troop 543. We will be watching her travels and learning about the different places she visits. We would love to have Crabby visit other Girl Scouts along the way--contact us if your troop sees her and we'll send you a patch from our Maryland Scout council. One of our Scouts is moving to Hawaii this year--wouldn't it be neat if Crabby someday finds her way to Honolulu?

Got Crabby today and dipped her toes in the Pacific once again at Carlsbad. Wish I was headed for Hawaii but not going that way soon so will have to drop her off at some other type of water spot.

Retrieved it from G.S. Geos with Boy Scout Troop 784 in Carlsbad. Crabby is going surfing tomorrow and will find a new home soon.

  • Crabby at the beach Crabby went surfing today in Carlsbad CA. Here Crabby is checking out the surf from lifeguard tower 21. Surf was 2 to 3 foot with good form. He caught some gnarly waves.

We took the crab for a dip in the Pacific Ocean today (Del Mar beach).

Wow,I'd love to be the geocacher who brought crabby to Hawaii, but not this time. I will take crabby to Del Mar beach this week and post a picture of him/her in the Pacific surf. No girl scouts in this family yet (unless you count mom 30 years ago...), only a Webelo cub scout.
