Current Goal

The

Hope House Bureau de Change TB

is a wallet containing foreign currency that wants to travel, see as much of the world as it can and operate like a mini foreign currency exchange.

If you have some left over useless coins or low value notes from your holidays, please use this TB to "exchange" them.

Any money that goes into the wallet TB should be either out of circulation or of very very low value. Please record any exchanges in the log before you move the bug on.
Any photos of the contents as the bug travels would be very welcome.
Please don't put any money of any value in the bug. If you do want to give your money away, please consider giving it to Hope House. Thanks!

About This Item

You may be interested to know about the "Hope House" logo that appears on the Travel Bug.

"Hope House" Children’s Hospices provides respite, palliative care and terminal nursing for life-limited children.

The organisation runs two hospices – Hope House in Oswestry and Ty Gobaith in Conwy.
Support is also offered in the family home by the Community Care Team. Bereavement support and counselling is available to all family members for as long as it is necessary.
Hope House makes no charge to families, and receives very little statutory funding – voluntary income is therefore essential to ensure the continuation of the service.
Hope House is a registered charity. The annual running costs of the 2 hospices is around £3M. Hope House receives small grants from local PCT's but 95% of the money they need is donated by the general public.
Hope House is a very worthy cause. Please see their website for much more information..
