The idea behind this TB grew during our first beginners climbing lessons in Bochum, Germany. We had loads and loads of fun making just 16 meters on a tremendous climbing wall - let's see how high this TB can get on his journey!
The higher the better!!!
(Although a log in the plainlands will do well as well of course ;-))

Die Idee zu diesem TB kam uns bei unseren allerersten Anfänger-Kletterstunden in Bochum. Wir hatten viel Spaß beim Versuch, eine gerade mal 16 Meter hohe Kletterwand zu erklimmen - mal sehen, zu welchen Höhen sich dieser Travelbug auf seiner Reise aufschwingt!
Je höher, desto besser!!!
(Ein Log im Flachland tut's natürlich auch ;-) )

On a side note... why is the Karabiner in the picture red, but the one in my hand is a silvery grey colour?

Retrieved it from West Wind pass. The Karabiner was rescued after almost a year from what I thought was a popular geocaching spot. I picked up at a height of 2080 m at then end of a hike starting at 1720 m for a total elevation gain of 360 m. It will be traveling to Hawaii in a few weeks and hopefully will see more activity at the top of a mountain there!

Rescued from Grotto Mountain. Elevation was 2731m, 1370m above my car.

I took Karibiner to the summit of Grotto Mountain, about 50 kms west of Calgary Alberta, Canada. The final elevation was 9009 feet with a climbing gain of 4500 feet. The climb took more than 4 hours on a bitterly cold windy day. I expect it will be here all winter.

The Karibeener would have spent a long cold lonely winter here (the access road closes on Dec. 1) If I can (snow permitting), I will try to place him on top of Grotto Mtn. in the next couple of weeks.
