Corto Maltese’s mission is travel to some of the places of the stories; like China, Manchuria, Ethiopia, Yemen, Somalia, Argentina, Italy, Marseille, Tunis, the Antilles, New Orleans, India, Brazil, Venezuela, Honduras, Dutch and French Guyana, Patagonia, Barbados, Peru, Hong-Kong, Siberia, Turkey, Azerbaidjan and of course the secret island of Escondida, but he likes to travel anywhere in the world.
He prefers to stay in caches near the sea.
PLEASE, TAKE PICTURES OF CORTO IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS – see my pictures for inspiration.
This Travel Bug is a tribute to my favourite adult comic hero – Corto Maltese, made by Italian Hugo Pratt.
I can read his stories over and over again, and I never get tired of them.
Corto Maltese is a sailor who travel adventurous around the world and sometimes witness real world episodes like the Boxer Rebellion and the first World War. Among fictive persons, he also meets historical people like Rasputin - and author Jack London, whom my own father’s uncle have met in Alaska. The stories are often dreamy and mysterious and are all, somehow, connected to each other.
If you don’t know Corto Maltese, please check him out.

We finally were able to give this nice TB a new home! We're really sorry it took so long and we don't have a picture of the adventure he's been in. Some adventure it was! He survived a robbery at my home, the only thing that was stollen laying right next to him.
But now he's back in the big world, close to the sea as he wanted to be!

Because of unexpected familly problems we weren't able to cache in The Hague this weekend. Next weekend this won't be possible either :( So unfortunalty we will hold on to the TB longer then planned.
We're really sorry! If you want we can drop it in Enschede next week (but that is further away from the sea)

We found this one far away from the sea in the woods. There was some water near, but not much salt. We will take it a lot closer to the sea! Maybe at seasight but probably a forest again...
Made a picture with a new friend, will add that soon and who knows what kind of adventures he will come across before he reaches the next case!
