About This Item

Cornwall 2008

A geocoin on a Antiqued copper finish featuring a Cornish Engine House, which housed the huge steam engines used on the tin and copper mines for a variety of jobs, from hauling ore to the surface, pumping out water from the deep mines and breaking up the ore for further processing.  Still a common sight in Cornwall (Far South West of the UK), but also in other areas of the world where Cornish Miners emigrated to - Australia, Cuba, Mexico and the USA being a few locations. The coin features a toast in the old Cornish Language "Copper, Tin and fish!" the backbone of the Cornish economy for many years.
