About This Item

The 2008 Australian Emu Geocoin

This is the brand new gold 2008 Australian Emu Coin. On the front it has a map of Australia with a compass rose on it. On the back there is an emu with its eggs and the iconic Southern Cross. Some of the special features of this coin are that the stars actually glow in the dark and the engraving contains green enamel. When I ordered the coin I was able to get my cacher name, Crane2, engraved on the coin as an added bonus!

A picturesque spot, great to visit even if it was overcast, and drizzly.

A nice seaside location, and that's the Mornington Peninsula on the other side of the water. This is the entrance of Port Philip Bay. Now for the trip back to Adelaide.

This section of coast line is littered with wrecks, the Loch Ard being one of the more famous. It must have been scary for the passengers and crew of the Loch Ard to see these cliffs looming out of the fog.

However the scenery here wasn't half bad. Having a calm and clear day helps, of course.
