Dad's Gone Fishing went driving all over New England with me. We went to MA and VT and CT and NY and didn't do any fishing or caching, but the places were all nice, and we did go to the snowmobile races in Rutland VT. Dad had to wait in the car though. I've put Dad in a really nice spot. He's resting comfortably in the Trout Brook Preserve with trails to views overlooking the spot where I've spent many an hour fishing for Trout (of course) with my cell phone in my pocket pretending to be at work. Sometimes I actually did business while waiting for my line to jerk with signs of a big jumbo brown nibbling at my bait. Sometimes we'd sit there reciting our fishing poems.
Fishie, fishie
In the brook
won't you bite
My little hook.
Fishie, fishie
Oh so fine
You'd go good
with some white wine.
Fishie, fishie
in the water
you'd be great
sauteed in butter!
Fishie fishie
In the Lake
I've got bait
for you to take.
Ok, so I never won a prize, but what else do you do while fishing? Sometimes the fishies would listen, sometimes the fishies would not. That's why they call it fishing and not catching!
My first fish caught was a blue fish. Dad said here, hold the pole and bam! I caught one! (I really think to this day that Dad hooked it and gave it to me to reel in).
My first fish as an adult was a perch, and I slipped off the rock and into the water and got all wet up to my knees. My best catches were a 15 lb. Brown Trout taken out of Maxwell Creek in upstate NY, a 10 lb and 6 lb brown taken off Lido Island in Pulaski NY, and a 24 lb salmon caught in Sandy Creek NY. Yes, fishing is great fun! I think this TB won't mind the visit at all while he waits for the next finder.
Cache you later,
Planet
