About This Item

AMTG Accessability GC 1

Large coin with a lot of heft. Strong but crude 3-D work and bright color. The front is done in commercial GC colors and shows physical, mobility, auditory and visual challenged images. There is a "G" in the audio challenged quadrant. The reverse is done in matte black enamel. The raised script has other enamel colors and says "Create an accessible cache". Reverse has the message in braille.. Take a few minutes to make the cache a little more accessible. Well done, simple but powerful. ---------------------info about the coin: Nochipra's own description of the coin:
Chip and I designed this coin to help promote awareness that people with disabilities and some minor health problems enjoy geocaching too and how important it is to create some accessible caches. I (Nora) am a wheelchair user who was born with spina bifida and Chip has diabetes which has made him legally blind, with poor circulation and he has had a kidney transplant, so we tried depict the types of problems many geocachers face on this coin with a wheelchair symbol, the crutches and cane symbol, the hand sign of G for geocaching for the deaf, and the glasses for those with very poor vision and the back of the coin has a special braille message you can interpret representing those who are blind. This coin has very special meaning for both of us and we hope it will for you too if you yourself or someone you know has some some form of physical limitation that makes geocaching a little more difficult but not impossible.------------------------So many of my trackable have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks. BR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.

What an exceptionally large, but especially beautiful collection of coins and travel bugs are in this life work / project

I admire the work of making copies of it and sending them around

You gave me the idea: I also made this week a copy of 10 coins to let them travel in the coming weeks

Very nice specimens and interesting pages
