High School was a little odd for me. I went to Ashland (MA) high my freshman year, and then to Wayland High my sophomore and part of my junior year. I then dropped out and went to work in th food service industry. Big mistake. Yes, it was a girl :).
In the fall of 1978 I went back to school at Minuteman Regional Vocational/Technical School in Lexington, MA, where I studied Data Processing. I was always a computer geek, since 7th grade.
I had been very active in music in school up until Minuteman, which had no music program at the time, so that was kind of a shock.
Despite the chemical abuse I subjected myself to, I succeeded in graduating, and immediately went to work for Digital Equipment Corp where I worked for the next 18 1/2 years. Shameless plug: if anyone wants a talented, experienced system/network admin in Northern Worcester County, hire me.
High School was divided roughly into the jocks/brains/heads trichotomy and I rode the line between brains and heads. I never went to any dances or other social events, and never had a gf in school. Poor me, wah.
I did survive, however. To anyone still in High School: Take it seriously, and have fun too. Don''t do drugs. Don''t smoke. You''ve heard it before, but now I''m telling you with the benefit of 23 years hindsight.
