Traded for this Geocoin to pay my respect to the Fallen Soldier which it represents and to pay respects to my own Fallen Hero. My Grandfather, A. Lee Applegate, Jr., who passed away on January 18th 1995 at the age of 66, was my own personal hero. He was not a Veteran of a Foreign war, but he served nonetheless. He achieved the Rank of Aviation Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class aboard the Franklin D. Roosevelt (Then designated as CVB-42) and later transitioned to civilian police in The Wheaton (IL) Police Department, where he eventually held the position of Police Chief for 6 years.
