As I try to do with all travel bugs and geocoins I find, I took Allie Gator on a little adventure with me today. We headed down to Lumberton Mississippi and took a flight in an airplane. Someone opened the door of the airplane at 14,500 feet, so we jumped out just for the fun of it. Allie and I made three skydives today out of the drop zone's Super Twin Otter jump plane. Allie stayed safe (sort-of) in my pocket during the jumps. We hopped out of the plane at 14,500 feet, enjoyed over a minute of freefall before deploying the 'chute around 3,000 feet and then had a 5-minute parachute ride back to a soft landing at the drop zone. Repacked the parachute and went again (and again). The thermometer in the truck read 100 degrees this afternoon. It was way too hot, so I switched to geocaching with the air conditioning in the Explorer blasting.
Now this travel bug has experienced the beauty, thrill, and joy of flight and knows why the birds sing. I'll get it into a nice cache near water on my way home today. Check out the pictures I'll upload with this log.
Blue skies and happy caching!
