What a wonderful TB! I just had to pick him up, because very many of my ancestors were coal miners, mainly from the Black Country. They were often described as "hewer" in the censuses too. The brothers of one of my great great great great grandfathers died in falls of rock and coal, and in 1864 another GGGG grandfather died when a horse bolted on the pit bank and tumbled down the shaft whilst he was descending in the cage, landing on top of it, snapping the ropes and sending him and his five workmates to their deaths.
I'll move Harry on as soon as I find a large enough cache for him. Thanks for sharing such an interesting and educational bug.
