November 9, 1957 Grandpa bought this 1957 Chevy in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He drove “Route 66” to California where he lived until we lost him in 1979. I still have this car but would like to have her go “home” for a short visit. Please take photos of the car by any “Route 66” sign along the way and at Harvey Chevrolet if it is still on Washington St. Maybe a stop 3182 W 105th St,. in Cleveland (his old home. Don’t bother the folks there) then send her back home to Los Angeles.

Thanks for letting us tour this classic 57 around...we have enjoyed having it with us! This seemed like the best cache I could find and feel secure about leaving it off right on old 66... Thanks again...jcworshipper.

The Bug took another trip to Fort Irwin with me today and visited the BLM scenic area near this cache in addition to exploring more of Route 66 on the National Trails Highway between Barstow and Victorville. A great day for the TB to be sure!

  • When Gas Prices let you drive a 57 Chevy!!! So this is the end of the road for our time with this bug. We are thinking about several caches to drop this 57 Chevy off in this weekend on the mother road. We have certainly enjoyed the picture opportunities and taking the bug around with us. This great travel bug took a trip with me out to Fort Irwin for work and then visited the great community of Barstow which was an important stop on Route 66 heading into Southern California. We logged in and out of a few caches in Barstow and took some pictures...Enjoy!
