Grandma Eva, before marrying and raising 11 children, was a seamstress. I inherited many of her buttons and sewing sundries, as well as her trusty Singer sewing machine. My daughter, Eva, enjoys sewing on that singer.
One good memory I have of time shared with Grandma Eva, was when we picked wild blueberries in the woods of Minnesota near Lake George. She always wore a dress, even when berry picking. That deep juicy pie that Aunt Inie baked with our harvest was, of course, the best blueberry pie I’ve ever tasted.
Grandma’s Buttons Travel Bug starts its journey in a blueberry patch in a September woods some 40 years and 4000 miles away. I keep the memory close.
