Current Goal

This TB was launched by a 5th grade class in Arizona. I would like for this TB to travel to every state in the United States of America. I would really appreciate it if you can post pictures along its journey.

About This Item

5th Grade Copper State Express

This TB is originating from my 5th grade class. I hope to teach my students about all the different states. Together we will be tracking the movement of the TB on a map in our classroom.

I would especially appreciate pictures in your logs that represent aspects of your state. Please feel welcome to include any information that would help us learn about your state including, but not limited to: climate, population, seasonal activities, etc.

Since we are going to be tracking this TB throughout the school year, we'd appreciate it if you would log and move the TB within 2 weeks.

Enjoyed retrieving this TB from a cache on a trail right next to the Erie Canal. The Erie Canal runs east/west from Albany, NY to Buffalo, NY and was the expressway for cargo in the early 1800's. It is now used for recreational boating, walking, and biking. The picture shows my daughter kayaking on the Erie Canal.

Hello 5th grade class. I have picked up your travel bug and am excited to help it on it's way. I am a high school science teacher in Brigham City, Utah. You can visit my website at http://www.dych.besd.net/Homepage/index.htm. I have some fun activities and websites listed there. I will post some pictures of where the bug has been with me in Utah and in a couple weeks I will be going to Maryland, Washington D.C., Connecticut and New York. I will take the bug with me on it's goal and post some pictures. The bugs plan is to see the Smithsonian Institute, Niagara Falls, the NBA Hall of Fame and many other historic sites. Hope you enjoy the visits.

  • Miles Goodyear Cabin This is the first permanent house built by a non Native American in Utah. It is found in Ogden near where I live. Utah has a deep history in traders and trappers. Christopher "Kit" Carson came through, Peter Skeen Ogden and Jim Bridger were other early explorers.
