it moving from fire station to fire station. If you can, please take
a picture of it with a fire fighter (in uniform or not) and/or a
fire station and post it on the geocaching.com site. Then place it
in another geocache to keep it moving. We would like to have it
meet as many of our heroes as possible throughout the country
and the world. Thank you!
In Memory of Roger Duke a Fire Fighter
and a Geocacher (Geoduker)
It is with great sadness that The Vancouver, Washington Fire Department and Vancouver Fire Fighters Local 452 announce the passing of Fire Fighter Roger Duke on January 2, 2009. Roger died as a result from complications of brain cancer. Roger’s illness has been officially recognized as being job related thus affording him all the honors for a line of duty death. Roger touched so many lives with his passion, enthusiasm and “Dukerisms”. He possessed a great love for the outdoors and his dogs. Roger never passed an opportunity to help anyone in need. He was a dedicated family man and a consummate professional. Roger served the Vancouver community with 26 years in the fire service. His exemplary conduct will serve as an example to everyone. The loss of Roger Duke is heart felt.
