As a result of project-learning at the Willy-Brandt-Gesamtschule Kerpen pupils worked over the subject “orienteering”. Title of the project was: “Where do we come from, where do we go…? From Orienteering by stars to GPS. Geocaching, some new sports!?”

The members of this project, pupils, eleven or twelve years old, fancied both, theoretical and practical learning about “Geocaching”. In the end they were thrilled by the facilities and chances, Geocaching is opening up. It seems to be that there are some new geocachers running around the place… ;-)

During this week of Geocaching a new Cache was brought up. You can find it on the known pages as “Frahms Exile”.



Während der Projektwoche 2005 der Willy-Brandt-Gesamtschule Kerpen fand ein Projekt zum Thema Orientierung statt unter dem Titel: „Wo kommen wir her, wo gehen wir hin…? – Von der Sternennavigation bis zum GPS. Geocaching als neuer Sport!?“ Die Teilnehmer dieses Projektes, Schüler der Jahrgangsstufe 7 waren mit Konzentration und Begeisterung bei der Sache. Neben einer theoretischen Ausarbeitung der Entwicklung der Orientierung von der Antike bis zur Gegenwart, war es vor allen Dingen auch der praktische Teil draußen im Gelände, der Begeisterung hervorrief! In dieser kurzen Woche scheinen sich neue Anhänger des Geocachens gefunden zu haben, die auch die Ernsthaftigkeit der Sache verstanden haben.

Eines der Resultate aus dieser Woche ist die Anlage eines eigenen Caches, der zukünftig auf den bekannten Seiten als „Frahms Exile“ zu finden ist.
