Current Goal

Cache Railroad has a goal to reach Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC. He would love to be photographed in front of the White House(or maybe with the president?!). He is partial to train travel and wishes to visit train depots around the country, with some photos of interesting depots to add to his portfolio of travels.

Checked out the two old Menomonie Depots and now I'm working up a head of steam to head to southern Wisconsin later this week.

Have I got a couple of great old depots for this little train to visit! I'll get some photos and move him on his way! He's going south soon.

  • Menomonie Junction This is one of our old train stations. As you can see, it's been completely restored. It's an awesome place inside too!
  • Menomonie Train Depot This old depot was the Menomonie station many years ago. It has fallen on bad times although there is a sign stating that it's going to be restored. Many of the old benches are still inside. The old wood floor needs repair in some places, but overall it's still good. The old loading platform is still in the back although it's surrounded by brush and trees. Hopefully it will get restored!
