Current Goal

Having been let down by his parents, Perthy is now trying to find his way home all on his own, Aaarrh. Can you help him? He is looking for a comfortable cache in the historic town of Warwick (UK). Perthy has some real bad parents! They just up and moved to Portugal, so is there any chance that he may now find his way into Central Portugal? But first he must travel across vast area of land and sea. However, still having that spirit of adventure Perthy will be happy to take the scenic route and in return for transportation across the world will be willing to keep an eye on the weather for you. (Many thanks to all those that have help Perthy with this special adventure and to those yet to help in his return to the UK Portugal – special thanks to AusTrackers for updating his mission tag)

Check out his parents at www.qdsportugal.com

About This Item

Perthy is also a weather bug, he is fantastic at predicting the weather - If Perthy is hung outside then he starts to work straight away - If he is wet, it is raining - If he is white, it is snowing - If he is stiff, it is freezing - If he is moving it is windy - If he is gone then he has been pinched! But we do hope you will help him on his way by pointing him in the right direction to complete his mission. Thank you

Came own to Barbeton in the East for the weekend.

A fascinating and, by South African standards, an old town. It was here that Gold was discovered during the mid 1800 and gold is still mined in the surrounding hills to this very day.

The town also featured in the Second World War and is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the country and close to the famous Kruger Park game reserve.

Perthy says the weather is warm and dry. Typical of the Winters in this area with minimums only going down to between 8-12 deg C.

Good area for a holiday if you ever come this way.

Picked the TB up again, off to somewhere else where I think it will hopefully move fast.

Africa at last! Let’s see how we can get you moving around down here and perhaps a bit closer to your destination.

Maybe not quite home but hopefully half way there.

Picked up again, off somewhere for the weekend.

Ok, due to the lack of internet access whilst sailing on the Mediterranean, we were unable to get to any caches in the ports we were visiting so couldn’t log our visits. However, your TB was with us all the way and here are some of the places we stopped off at.

Port of Dubrovnic (Croatia) 42 39.828N 018 04.887E (extremely beautiful, you must get there, the mountains around Dubrovnick must be full of skiers in the winter months)

Bridge of tears Venice (Italy) 45 25.886N 012 20.892E (140000 tourists a day! Where is all the romance in that lot? Won’t go back there again)

Island of Corfu, the trading area in the town of Corfu (Greek Islands) 39 37.520N 019 55.165E (Quaint, excellent weather and reasonably priced, I’ll go back any day)

Crateri Silvestri on Mt Etna, Scilly (Italian island) 37 41.829N 015 06.412E. (Apparently there was a small eruption here about 3 weeks ago, good thing we missed it! We were at 2000m, the main crater is a 3-4hr cable car ride and another climb to 3100m. Can you believe it, this is where the Sicilians Ski in winter as the whole volcano is then covered in snow)

And then back to Valetta in Malta and now here back at Gatwick.

Sorry we couldn’t log any of those caches. Don't worry your TB is still on the move, it's now time to move off this continent...
