Current Goal

This TB is in a race that will end on April 30th, 2010. This race is a little different than most TB races since the focus of the race is on the journey and not so much about how many kilometers it travels. If you'd like to help me win the easiest way is to just move this TB to any roadside attraction and take a picture of the TB there and post it on this page when you log dropping this TB in a new cache. There is a category for most kilometers traveled however since I'm from the United States I'd much rather have this travel and collect lots of pictures of your beautiful country rather than having it focus on traveling the furthest. Even after the race ends please do NOT take this TB out of Canada. I would prefer it stay in Canada and continue to visit new caches all over your country.

About This Item

Hopping Across Canada

The hitchhiker on this TB is a plastic rabbit. Ok, lets get back to the race since your participation could not only help me win, but it may also help YOU win a prize! That's right after the race a random drawing will be held to select one cacher that posts a picture of a contestant and that person will receive a prize! To be truthful winning the race would be nice, but I'd be thrilled to just see pictures from all over Canada. Even though the race rules do allow racers to cross over into the United States I ask you to please do not move this TB out of Canada. Don't forget even if I don't win the race you may still win a prize if you post a picture of this TB at a road side attraction! If you are not able to post a picture please feel free to move it anyways and a I will use Google Earth to track it's movements and maybe pull up some photos from there of wherever you place it. Thank you for moving along my TB! Hopefully at some point in the future I'll be able to return the favor and move a TB or geocoin for you! Happy caching!!!

After a busy trip in Halifax we finally dropped "hoppy" off at a cache by the Halifax docks.

  • Cornwallis This is the founder of Halifax
  • Citadel Hill Citadel Hill holds a fort that was used to protect Halifax. It was never used in war time... perhaps because it was a menacing looking fort. Hoppy was checking out one of the cannons.
  • George Island This island was also used as part of the Halifax defense.
  • Clock Tower This is the oldest clock in Canada...
  • Alexander Keiths Hoppy was caught taking a swing of keiths. The beer made famous by Alexander Keiths.
  • Harbour Clock and Theodore Theordore is a tug boat that was made into a children TV show and watched by many children across Canada. Hoppy is posing in front of the old harbour clock by Theodore.
  • Docks This is the last photo op for Hoppy before being put into a cache. It is a view across the Halifax docks. There is not much you can see from this angle, but a cruise ship was in the background.

I will be in Halifax this weekend and thought I would check this TB out the hotel and into a trip to some famous Halifax landmarks. Stay tuned.... I'll try to keep this TB going and take lots of pictures during my entire trip and leave him behind at my last cache.
