How the Armor of God Got Started
The Armor of God coin, was originally designed to be given to Christian Chaplains, to boost their spirits for their efforts within military affairs. As the coins were given out their popularity quickly spread throughout the world. Now the coin is purchased and used by various types of individuals and organizations who consider themselves warriors belonging to the Army of God.
What The Armor of God Represents
The Armor of God is based on a scripture found in the New Testament. The Apostle Paul states in Ephesians 6:12-13, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
Paul then describes the individual pieces of armor in verses 14-17. "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with the truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Finally, in verse 18, Paul admonishes us to pray always.
On the front side of the coin are two shields bearing the letters "RWH," which stand for "Return With Honor." This reminds us of the importance of not just serving, but serving honorably.
