Well the tour group arrived in Beloit last evening. The TB's seemed to have disappeared after they saw the giant Can of Bean Chili near the hotel. Needless to say, we had all the windows on the tour bus wide open for today's caching adventures.
We started by visiting Beloit's Historical Water that was completed in 1889. The 100 foot tall limestone pedestal seen today held a large cypress tank on top. The original purpose was to maintain water pressure for downtown and to ensure that firefighters had enough water pressure to fight fires.
We they enjoyed a walk along the Rock River. The TB's were just like kids when they saw the pirate ship ready to set sail. We enjoyed the fantasy for a short time.
Abraham Lincoln visited the Beloit and Janesville area twice, the tour bus traveled the same route he took.
Our last adventure involved finding out about the Norwegian immigrant history of the area.
