Discoveries are generally low key and pretty predictable - Parking Lots, Meet & Greets, Events, etc... HOWEVER a Field Observation is Rare. Today, I was on the John Bull Trail and had followed a single Jeep with 6 Marines from San Diego - Instructors for Amphibious Assault - out for a weekend of relaxing camping and 4x4'g. They made one mistake, they caught their rear diff cover on a rock at the John Bull gatekeeper by the Arctic entry and peeled it back at the bottom, dumping a line of fluid [RED]~๐ก~, [/RED]. I caught up with them at the Holcomb area by Wilbur's grave where they stopped and tried to plug it. I gave 1 Marine - John - a ride back to get his jeep at the other end of John Bull where he had supplies to make a field repair. Seeing a Jeep Ribicon exiting a side dirt road to the main dirt road, I figured I would just stop and ask directions, rather than look at my GPS.
Funny thing, they're Geocachers!!! and MtnRubi to boot. FINALLY, nice to meet you!!! I keep seeing your logs in caches we visit. Well, we had a nice chat, eye'd each other's Rubis [GREEN]~๐~, [/GREEN]bagged the TBs and got back to business with directions. We drove back to the east gatekeeper, picked up his parked jeep with supplies and followed him back to the broken Jeep where we reloaded our crew back in wrapping up a helpful side trip for USMC. We thanked THEM for their service [GREEN]~๐~[/GREEN] and headed towards home.
