Right, this has been postponed for way too long.. time to write up a bit.

The bunny has landed to Rauma. Rauma is a small town on the west coast of Finland. There isn't really that much to say about Rauma that hasn't been already discussed in various places. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rauma,_Finland

As a quick recap; Rauma is mostly known of the old part of the town that is a Unesco World Heritage site.

The town itself is a pretty typical Finnish town that is surrounded by forests. The pictures attached here are taken some 3-4 km from the city center.

As for the peace aspect of the TB: Rauma and it's neighboring town Pori have always had a quarrel, but luckily it has been calming down lately. Before my time the locals had a tradition of heading out the neighboring town to pick a fight. Luckily people don't do that anymore. With the exception of hockey matches =)

Picked up for a ride to somewhere else. Lets see what kind of adventures the bunny will encounter..

Pärkänvuori is a small hill in Uusikaupunki. There are about 16 000 people living in Uusikaupuki. The cache in the countryside and there is about 20 kilometers to the city.

Pärkänvuori is a good place for climbers because the another side of the hill is vertical. The other side is a gentle slope and there you can walk to the top. The hill is about 30,8 meters high.

  • Bunny having a nap Bunny loves Finland so much that she/he never wants to come back! :D Having a nap in Pärkänvuori near the cache.
  • Pärkänvuori in sunshine
  • "This way!" says the Bunny

I'm proud to be the first one to move the beautiful Purple Bunny :) We visited my nearest cache in Vehmaa, but it was a bit small for the bunny. But we didn't mind! Took some pictures and continued our trip :)

The cache is an old quarry where you can find the famous balmoral red stone from which Vehmaa is famous of. Well, maybe not in Pittsburgh :D

There are only about 2500 people living in my hometown Vehmaa. Small and peaceful town :)

  • Purple Bunny first time in Finland! Purple Bunny is saying hi to you from the old quarry. We didn't dare to go closer because the quarry is quite dangerous place.
  • The quarry without bunny
  • Bunny and a geodog Purple Bunny is saying hi to my geodog Peppi :D
