About This Item

'little cast iron black pot, just big enough to hold some caching memories about " a fine kettle of fish" you got yourself into!
Ever end up to your armpits in snow, went for an unintended swim, got really stuck in swamp mud, crawled into dark creepy tunnels, gone underground or underwater, scratched up by pricker bushes, been tossed and/or roped up into trees by fellow cachers, been given a surprise birthday party, almost washed off a jetty by a rouge wave, questioned by police, burned for hours from nettles, had to use a boat or canoe, been in a parade, chased by coyotees, had poision oak or poision ivy all for a geocache? These are MY stories..all true..share yours with us!

Will move it along soon. The most adventurous cache experience so far has to be the Big Tree Cache near Cranberry Glades, WV. I took the short steep way in. Went through THICK Rhododendron, followed by climbing up a VERY STEEP stream bank covered with stinging nettle in shorts!!! And then my batteries decided to die, and I lost my extras!!!! Luckily, I was close to the cache so I made the find!!!! Then I took the long, easy way out, only to discover when I got to the road that the GPSr was gone!!!!! So I backtracked and found it with in 30 feet of the cache!!!!! WHEW!!!!! What a fun cache!!!!!

The most frustrating cache so far (I only have 37 finds) is straight out of compton. I live about two miles from this one and I'd like to get it. I believe its in a tunnel for a small stream. It was found a lot. I've been there three separate times thinking I've missed it. Well, somebody, or the high waters took it. I feel as though I've wasted my time on this cache. Someday I will be able to put a smiley face on this one. I'm going to move this TB quickly the weight is killing my back. Thanks

Weird location for this one--not even inside a cache container. Rescued it and will move it along quickly.

A funny thing happened today while I was retrieving this TB from Tuck Everlasting. I had only been on the trail about 10 minutes when I heard a very official sounding announcement from a loud speaker. I couldn't understand a word the person was saying, so I resumed my hunt. I have been to this beautiful park many times in the past, but never so high and dry climbing the ridge. I found the cache and headed for the falls. When I got there, a group of teens had gathered after school to enjoy the site with a bunch of snacks spread out on the rocks. One of them asked if I had a green car. I said yes, fearing bad news. He told me the ranger was looking for me because my trunk was open. I remembered pulling the trunk release as I was getting out of the car, but finding my hiking pole in the backseat instead. I never thought to close the trunk. Headed back to the car, after having been gone nearly an hour, and there was the ranger waiting for me. I explained what I had done and thanked her for watching over my car. Sure glad noone emptied out my trunck!
