1. Travel to home of the "Screaming Eagles" at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Get cool photos while at Fort Campbell. 2. Lastly, return to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 3. While this bug travels: collect stories, photos and logs from current soldiers and veterans who are part of the Army Airborne. Please cross off goal #1 on the travel bug card when it's complete. This way geocachers will know when it's time for this bug to go home.
My interest in the military started as a small boy. I collected dozens of Army patches including this one. My dad was a cook in the Wisconsin National Guard field artillery. He's now retired. It was exciting to visit him during his two weeks of annual field manuvers at Fort McCoy near Sparta, Wisconsin. It was an adventure exploring Army gear, vehicles and equipment. I enlisted even before I graduated from high school. As a Army combat tank crewman, I served from 1986-1990. My hope is that this travel bug will raise public awareness to the sacrifice that soldiers make everyday.
