Guinness Gracious, it's a race!!! Let's roll!!! September 12, 2009....it's the annual GONIL (Geocachers of NE Illnois) picnic and the kickoff of the 2009 GONIL TRAVEL BUG RACE! Wow, the competition is tough - last year's race was a real nail-biter right down to the finish line. The goal is to see who can log the most miles by August 31, 2010. WE NEED YOUR HELP to keep this barrel rolling along to VICTORY!
How could we pick any other talisman for this great adventure? Two years ago, under what I can only describe as the ultimate ADHD impulse-challenged moment of my life, I decided to fly to Dublin for the weekend. Why Dublin? I don't know. Because it's there? Anyway, a few days later we were on a plane headed for a grand adventure to a place we'd never been! Wahoo! One of the highlights of our visit was the "pub-crawl", following a band of musicians from pub to pub (and Guinness to Guinness) all about Dublintown. Before leaving Dublin, I purchased this little bauble as a keepsake our our outrageous adventure. So...to make a short story long.........
