About This Item

Craftsman

I am Craftsman, the hardware bug. I love hardware. I am a Craftsman 7/16" box wrench with a 4-way pocket screwdriver "dog tag". Some people call me Tim, others call me Homer, and still others call me Ace. Whatever you call me, take me to visit your favorite neighborhood hardware store. Although I like Home Depot, Lowe's, and Ace, they are all the same! I love the small stores that have character. Take me to your favorite! Take a picture of me there and post it on my tracking page. Then put me back in a different geocache. I want to see America one hardware store at a time. Sooner or later, I do want to go home (which is not a geocache) to N33 56.340, W084 21.395, Alt. 1130' (and the altitude is important!).

Next to geocaching, my favorite thing is tools. Craftsman got lonely while staying with us, so I sent him out to my work bench to hang out. Sure enough, by morning he had gotten a grip on himself and made new friends.

  • Craftsman meets a big dog! Craftsman meets the Hurst Multi-Tool (commonly called the "Jaws of Life") off of Engine 5.
  • Craftsman and FF 175. Craftsman meets a forest fighting tool exclusive to New England, Forest Fighter 175. We have at least one of these "brush trucks" at each of the seven fire stations. The front bars and designed to knock trees down, and the all-wheel drive powers the truck over them so that we can get through woodlands without roads.

These two bugs could not decide between going to a hardware store, or Middle Earth.
