I was stationed at KI Sawyer AFB from 84 - 92, retiring this past February from the Air National Guard. It was great to see the area again - it's amazing what's changed and what hasn't changed in the area.

It's a wonderful tribute you're paying to your brother for his service and I'm glad I can help pass it on.

I'm going to see if I can get it overseas, but will get it placed soon one way or the other.

  • The TB at K.I. Sawyer This seemed to be a perfect spot for the TB - a decommissioned Air Force base. The base has been turned into a residential area and commercial airport. K.I. Sawyer was once the home to many B-52-D flying fortresses that were on call to obliterate the U.S.S.R. with nuclear bombs.
  • One of many planes on display There are many planes on display near the Rock Lobster cache, including fighters, bombers and B-52s.

Found this today not knowing the cache was a bug hotel. Since we live near K.I. Sawyer Airforce Base (which is now closed but transformed into a commercial airport and residential housing) we figured we would help the bug along towards it's goal.
