Current Goal

My mission is to see as many states/countries as possible between Labor Day 2005 and Memorial 2006. I will report back to my 5th graders as often as possible so they can learn about the interesting places I see and people I meet.

About This Item

This is a contest between six 5th grade classes at Morrisville Elementary School. I am representing the students in Mr. Eleby's class. We are asking each geocacher to answer at least oneof the following questions. Your responses and/or photo will help my class learn about the importance of education and geography. Thank you for taking part in our educational experience.

Picked this up from a cache in the woods next to the soccer field at Corporate Landing Middle School in Virginia Beach. This school is on Dam Neck Road in the southern half of Virginia Beach about 4 miles (or so) from the ocean.

Re. Alma Mater's I went to a boy's boarding school in Massachusetts for 8th-12th grades, and to a 4 year college near Cleveland, Ohio.

I grabbed Lester after a visit to the Backwoods Orienteering Klub meet in Umstead SP, where I learned the importance of physical fitness. If I had been physically fit, I would have finished a lot faster than 128 minutes on the medium advanced course.

Lester is now in Norfolk, VA. Our most significant landmark is the world's largest Naval Base. Aircraft carriers, destroyers, subs, and every other kind of Navy ship can be found along the Elizabeth River. A lot of history can be found in the area too, with Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown just up the road.

I'll turn Lester loose early next week. Good luck.
