About This Item

joybear TB.JPG

Hi, I'm JoyBear. I've been sent on an adventure for my elderly lady friend who is confined to her home. She loves adventure and will follow my progress online. I would also like to collect souvenir key chains from areas I go. I would like to see her again after a year of traveling.

  • Couple new key chains I added Yellowstone and New Mexico during our travels
  • New tracking sheet I wanted to make sure whoever picks up Joy Bear knows what the plans is.
  • Baggie I put Joy Bear into a ziplock baggie to make sure Joy keeps going strong for years to come
  • Taz & Joy Bear This was a sad day for me. Joy Bear and I have traveled for ~5,000 miles since 10-9-10. This has been a crazy road trip but all good things must come to an end. I hope Joy Bear gets to see many more places over the years.

This is Taz and Joy Bear saying good bye. Taz is sad to see Joy go but understands.

The other sad note is I have tried to contact the owner to see if they still wanted it to make it back to the Bay area of Cali, no response. I do hope all is well but hopefully Joy Bear w

  • Crossing the new by-pass bridge When on the way home last night I tried to get this photo. Its not very good but hey, not only was Joy Bear one of the last ones to cross over the Hoover Dam Road, Joy was also one of the first to cross over the bypass bridge!
  • Primm, NV Well the cache was just barely into California but I snaped this shot on the NV side. I love coming down here with the wife for weekend stays.

  • Rio Puerco Bridge, NM This bridge is just east of Albuquerque. In my younger days we used to travel across this bridge. I am glad to see they have kept it up even if its not in use anymore.
  • Rio Puerco Bridge It was scary crossing this bridge when a semi-truck was coming the other direction!

  • Just before heading out of Carlsbad Well once again I got a call saying you need to be back in Vegas tonight. Wow......on the road again! But at least this time I get to head home!
  • Cool house! This house is right by the living desert in Carlsbad
  • Moriarity, NM Grabbing a cache before heading down the road. Unfortunately this was going to be a fast trip and mostly at night so I took some pictures and grabbed some caches while I could. I think Joy Bear is about ready to move on to another cacher now.

  • Just out side of Carlsbad Yes thats Carlsbad, NM Last cache of the day, On the way down here we went through a wind storm that reportedly had speeds of up to 90 mph! Tomorrow will be mainly work but who knows I might be able to do some night caching along the river here. This is a neat town that has a great Christmas on the river display. Also the Carlsbad Caverns are near by but we won't have time to visit before heading back. I have been away from home for too long. I hope to be heading back towards Vegas on Wednesday.
